Through strategic partnerships and a strong network the Emera ideaHUB maintains connections with engineers, innovators, angel investors, venture capitalists, successful entrepreneurs and business mentors. The Emera ideaHUB acitvely manages an engaged network of alumni and advisors. Regular events share the journey of program participants while also building and maintaining a network of connections across the ecosystem and attracting new partners
The Emera ideaHUB unites universities, the corporate community, entrepreneurs, venture capital and the government into a coordinated network to leverage and invigorate Atlantic Canada’s innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem. Access to resources is facilitated through connections to regional, national, and international networks.
Partnerships with other incubators and accelerators in the Atlantic start-up ecosystem include Volta, Innovacorp, CDL-Atlantic, and COVE. These strategic partners ensure the Emera ideaHUB accesses resources already available and further develops programs and supports that serve a gap in the current ecosystem. We work together to support Atlantic startup companies so that we can massively accelerate growth and ensure products get to market faster.
Partnerships across Canada and globally ensure we are applying best practices and developing programs and resources that will have maximum impact. Through Nova Scotia’s participation in the MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) REAP program, Dalhousie maintains connections with MIT and is able to bring key resources into the Atlantic startup ecosystem. Dalhousie is also part of the Incubate Innovate Network of Canada (I-INC), which is a pan-Canadian, internationally connected network of high-performance university-linked accelerators and incubators. I-INC creates an ecosystem for the efficient commercialization of University-based and science and technology-enabled innovation.
